2025 Conference
Sydney
The Australian Control Room Network conference once again rolls around to Sydney and is being held at the palatial Fullerton hotel on the 28th and 29th of October. As measure of growth of the association – our last conference digs in Sydney were at Brighton-le-Sands which we have now well-and-truly outgrown. This years theme of “Business Continuity” focuses on building organisational resilience through proactive risk management, adaptive planning, and leveraging emerging technologies to ensure seamless operations in the face of disruption.
Attendees will have the unique opportunity to engage with experts from various industries that operate control rooms, as well as businesses offering support and expertise in this field. Case studies and technical presentations will be shared, allowing for the exchange of knowledge and experiences.
A highlight of the conference will be the keynote address by Arnold Dix, a Professor of Engineering, respected Barrister of the High Court of Australia and seasoned disaster investigator.
The conference dinner, scheduled for the end of day one, offers a chance for networking among industry peers, accompanied by insight from Dr Jordon Nguyen, a leading Australian engineer, inventor and innovator and founder of Psykinetic, a social business committed to bringing positive, sustainable and life-altering change.
Day two will feature site tours to selected control rooms in Sydney, providing firsthand insights into their operations. The conference will conclude with an interactive workshop titled “Designing the Control Room of the Future” facilitated by Dr Sarah Goodman and Dr Yidan Zhang of the Human-Centred Computing department at Monash University.
The Association’s overarching goal of pursuing control room best practices underscores the value of attending this conference, promising attendees both valuable knowledge and networking opportunities to advance in this specialised field.
The Association is committed to maintaining a cost-effective event that offers exceptional value for money, ensuring a high-quality experience for all participants.
