ACRNA Conferences
2026 Conference
Brisbane
Registrations Opening 1st June
The conference for Australian Control Room Network Association returns in 2026, this year taking place in Brisbane on the 1st and 2nd of September. Bringing together control room professionals, operational leaders and industry partners from across Australia and New Zealand, the conference continues to strengthen its reputation as the premier forum dedicated to advancing control room operations, resilience and best practice.
This year’s program will explore the evolving challenges facing modern operational environments, including organisational resilience, operational readiness, emerging technologies, human factors and the increasing integration of complex systems across critical infrastructure sectors.
Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with experts from a diverse range of industries that operate control rooms, alongside organisations providing specialist services, technology and operational support to the sector. Through technical presentations, operational case studies and industry discussions, delegates will gain valuable insights while sharing experiences with peers facing similar operational challenges.
A highlight of the conference will be the keynote address by Alan Steele from Airservices Australia, who will provide insight into the significant national initiative involving the consolidation of civil and defence air monitoring capabilities — a complex operational transformation requiring coordination, resilience and precision across critical aviation systems.
The conference dinner, held at the conclusion of day one, will feature special guest speaker Matt Hall — former Royal Australian Air Force Wing Commander, combat veteran, Red Bull Air Race World Champion and one of Australia’s most accomplished aviators. Matt’s remarkable career in high-performance aviation, leadership under pressure and risk management promises a captivating and inspiring evening for delegates and guests alike.
Day two will continue with our exclusive site tours, industry engagement opportunities and an interactive workshop session focused on contemporary challenges and future opportunities within the control room environment.
The Association’s overarching goal of pursuing control room best practices underscores the value of attending this conference, providing participants with practical knowledge, meaningful industry connections and valuable professional development opportunities.
As a not-for-profit association, the Australian Control Room Network Association remains committed to delivering a high-quality, cost-effective event that offers exceptional value for members, delegates and industry partners alike.

The Australian Control Room Network conference once again rolls around to Sydney and is being held at the palatial Fullerton hotel on the 28th and 29th of October. As measure of growth of the association – our last conference digs in Sydney were at Brighton-le-Sands which we have now well-and-truly outgrown. This years theme of “Business Continuity” focuses on building organisational resilience through proactive risk management, adaptive planning, and leveraging emerging technologies to ensure seamless operations in the face of disruption.
Attendees will have the unique opportunity to engage with experts from various industries that operate control rooms, as well as businesses offering support and expertise in this field. Case studies and technical presentations will be shared, allowing for the exchange of knowledge and experiences.
A highlight of the conference will be the keynote address by Arnold Dix, a Professor of Engineering, respected Barrister of the High Court of Australia and seasoned disaster investigator.
The conference dinner, scheduled for the end of day one, offers a chance for networking among industry peers, accompanied by insight from Dr Jordon Nguyen, a leading Australian engineer, inventor and innovator and founder of Psykinetic, a social business committed to bringing positive, sustainable and life-altering change.
Day two will feature site tours to selected control rooms in Sydney, providing firsthand insights into their operations. The conference will conclude with an interactive workshop titled “Designing the Control Room of the Future” facilitated by Dr Sarah Goodman and Dr Yidan Zhang of the Human-Centred Computing department at Monash University.
The Association’s overarching goal of pursuing control room best practices underscores the value of attending this conference, promising attendees both valuable knowledge and networking opportunities to advance in this specialised field.
The Association is committed to maintaining a cost-effective event that offers exceptional value for money, ensuring a high-quality experience for all participants.
